Hallie + Ryan April 11, 2015

July 6, 2015

A year into planning Hallie and Ryan’s wedding, I found out I was pregnant and due a week after their date. I dreaded having to break the news to this sweet couple… because after a year, you really begin to feel closer to your clients and want to see their day through. However, I knew it was just not possible, and of course she understood (which, thankfully, she did because my little one came two days later!)HallieRyan00821HallieRyan00185 HallieRyan00228 HallieRyan00254 HallieRyan00221

Luckily, Hallie and Ryan were in the capable hands of Jenifer Sanregret, so I knew everything would come together beautifully, and it did.

This couple wanted something that would be big, bright, beautiful, and festive. Hallie loved the idea of incorporating lots of Mexican influence (were are in Texas after all) which encompassed everything that she loved about throwing parties: lots of color, lots of tequila, and lots of fun.

This might come off brag-y, but I love seeing my hard work published on such an upstanding blog and magazine like Smitten. It makes me so excited to share the work me and these incredible vendors have all contributed to create such a beautiful shoot. Teamwork at it’s best, ladies and gentlemen. : )

So thank you, Smitten, for giving us vendors a platform to show off our best sides! We loved working on this shoot and I feel oh-so-lucky to be surrounded by such talented people. Geez Louise.

When I first got engaged, one of my favorite websites to peruse was Ruffled. The weddings that were featured on their site showed me just how creative and free thinking I could be with creating my wedding that was definitive of me and my (now) husband. They really opened my eyes to the possibility that a wedding didn’t have to be JUST white A-line dresses and red roses (not hating on either, however!)

Being chosen to be featured on their blog was a big celebratory event for me and my little business, that is slowly but surely growing more and more everyday. From opening my doors three months ago, I have weddings booked all the way through late June of next year.

I know a lot of event planners and industry professionals don’t really seem phased by being published, but for me, it means a lot, and I don’t think that will change. We don’t always get recognized for the hard work we put into events, and when we do, it feels really really nice.

So first and foremost, thank you to my amazing vendors: Kat Bevel, Beth Richards of Exquisite Petals, Kappel and Lauren Cloninger of Needle + Thread, Jack and Lisa Copeland of Austin Street Cafe, Thunderbird Hotel and Capri Lounge, Cibolo Creek Ranch, Americana Salon, and my wonderful coordinator, Leigh Fifelski.

And thank you, Ruffled, for giving us a way to show what we work so hard to do every day.

Done rambling! Check out the Ruffled post here.
